Partly Cloudy is the ultimate award-winning infoviz weather app. Partly Cloudy’s unique clock visualization will show you a weather forecast unlike anything you’ve ever seen before—in a completely intuitive way!

“Partly Cloudy is different from most weather apps in that it displays all the information you would need to know for a single day in one unique and compelling infographic.”
— Cult of Mac, cultofmac.com

“In a world where it seems to be raining new weather apps, its crucial for users to be able to choose between those that are tailored towards designers versus meteorologists. Were happy to have found one that caters to both.”
— Cool Hunting, coolhunting.com

FEATURES

Current, hourly, and 7-day forecast (numeric and pictorial) for:

– temperature (in Celsius & Fahrenheit)
– high/low temperatures
– wind force (Beaufort)
– amount of precipitation (rain, snow, …)
– weather situation (sunny, rainy, partly cloudy, …)

Add multiple locations to keep track of the weather in of all of your favorite places.

BEAUTY

Partly Cloudy is gorgeous—it was custom designed by the same successful and award-winning infographics team that brought you the marvellous Virtual Water and EcoChallenge apps.

Stunning simplicity, paired with meaningful and rich data, gives you all the weather info you need at a glance.

So the beauty is not only on the surface, but gets better the deeper you dive into the data.

SPEED

You don’t want to waste your time “navigating” a thermometer. That’s why Partly Cloudy is as easy as its analog counterpart: one look and you know what’s going on.

Turn the clock hand to jump into the future. Want to know how warm it will be tonight? Check. Tomorrow? Check. Even a 7-day forecast is provided for most locations.

ACCURACY

Apart from all the beauty, our forecast data is pretty good, too. You have the choice between the Norwegian Meteorological Institute and Open Weather Map—both providers have weather data for a huge number of locations on all continents. You can switch the weather source at any time and find out which one’s more accurate for your location.

Why not give Partly Cloudy a shot at becoming your new favorite weather app?

We think Dieter will definitely love this app.

Pros and cons of Partly Cloudy app for iPhone and iPad

Partly Cloudy app good for

Great design rules ! But heavily unstable lately...close itself all the time. Some bug to fix ?
5 stars for the design and how intuitive the interface is. The attention to detail. I have yet to test how accurate it is. I really like it. It also fits the 4inch screen of the iphone 5, which now, in letterboxed app limbo, is very refreshing.
Simple, efficient, maybe missing a "whats the weather like «here»" without having to add a new location. Also, a iPad app would be great :-)
And if you are a fan of the 48h graph forecast from yr.no, you can use them as source as well!
Great update, thank you. Is it possible to have a "current location" view, and an iOS 7 updated design ? Please...
Lacks a setting to specify the default view (e.g. 7 day), but otherwise great.

Some bad moments

Looks great, but reads approx 6 degrees c too high for Portland Oregon. Thats quite a gap. Please fix as I love the intuitive interface.
Even with todays update the app keeps crashing when opening. Ive also uninstalled and re-installed. iPhone 4.
Worst app ever do not waste your money. Never updates and never shows me my forecast. I want my money back. SCAMSCAMSCAMSCAMSCAMSCAMSCAMSCAMSCAMSCAMSCAMSCAM.
Info graphic does not work properly in the new update; no coloring for temperature, wind, conditions on central graphic.
Fantastic user interface design. Simply beautiful. Was a five-star app. But now the app just says "loading data" forever. Since it never actually shows me the weather anymore, its a zero-star app (too bad you cant give less than one-star.)
At first it took awhile to figure it out but when I got the hang of its perfect replacement for any weather app. The way it graphs rain probability is brilliant! Now here are the problems with the app. (Im using an iPhone 4) The app crashes 5 times and starts up! Fix this problem finally! Update Jan 20 13: 9 times out of 10 I get a data unavailable error and it cant load the weather. doesnt anyone test the app before its released? On the plus side it doesnt crash as much as before.
